PRACTICE OF STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL PHARMACY

From February 10 to March 8, 2025, higher education students of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) of various courses underwent internships at leading enterprises in the chemical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
of Ukraine, as well as at the department in the educational and scientific laboratory of molecular pharmacology, chemogenomics and biogerontology (NNL MFCB).

As part of their internship, first-year undergraduate students of the educational and professional program "Innovative Pharmaceutics" participated in scientific research conducted in the department's educational and scientific laboratory, and also studied the organizational structure of pharmaceutical enterprises in Ukraine in different regions and their product portfolios.

Higher education students of the 2nd year of the educational and professional program "Industrial Pharmacy" underwent training practice at the National Botanical Garden named after M. M. Hryshko of the NAS of Ukraine, where they consolidated and deepened their knowledge of pharmaceutical botany and pharmacognosy. As part of this practice, students got acquainted with a wide range of medicinal plants, learned to recognize and identify medicinal plants of various phytocenoses by species characteristics, mastered methods of their cultivation, reproduction and preservation of biological diversity. This is of great importance for future specialists in industrial pharmacy, since medicinal plant raw materials of proper quality are the basis for the creation of effective herbal medicines.

In addition, as part of their internship, students of these two courses went on a study tour of Pharmex Group LLC, where they saw work at a pharmaceutical company in both analytical laboratories and production units, got acquainted with the methods of quality control of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished medicines, as well as the processes of validation, equipment qualification, and drug packaging.

Higher education students of the 3rd year of the educational and professional program "Industrial Pharmacy" underwent training practice at the Department of Industrial Pharmacy and improved their knowledge of the technology of medicines, processes and devices of chemical and pharmaceutical production, the basics of regulatory and technical documentation, requirements for the quality of medicines, etc. As part of the practice, they visited the production facilities of JSC "Farmak" - the leader of the pharmaceutical industry in Ukraine. During the tour, the students got acquainted with the quality control laboratories and production lines, and saw how the knowledge gained during the training process is implemented in practice.

Applicants of the 4th year of the educational and professional program "Industrial Pharmacy" underwent production practice at leading pharmaceutical enterprises in Ukraine, such as JSC "Farmak", PrJSC "Pharmaceutical Firm "Darnytsia"", JSC "Kyivmedpreparat", LLC "Biopharma Plasma", LLC "Pharma Start", etc. During this practice, students became familiar with various stages of pharmaceutical production - from the development and quality control of medicines to their serial production and packaging.

Students of the second (master's) level of higher education of the educational and professional program "Industrial Pharmacy" underwent internship at the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of the KNUTD, where they were actively involved in scientific and research work. At the NNL of the MFChB, they conducted research on the development and improvement of the technology for manufacturing medicines, studied their physicochemical and pharmaco-technological characteristics. In addition, students investigated the biological activity of various active pharmaceutical ingredients and medicines, using modern methods of laboratory research.

The first-year students of the Master's degree program of the educational and professional program "European Cosmeceuticals" had their research practice at such enterprises as "Umankhimtrade Ukraine", "Pilab" LLC, "Interdez" LLC, "Unix" Private Limited Company, "Elfa Laboratory" LLC, "Marie Fresh Cosmetics" LLC, as well as at the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of the KNUTD. In addition, as part of the practice, they had a tour of the "ProCare" enterprise, which is a well-known manufacturer and distributor of cosmetics.
